179. (Types of decision)
1. Unless otherwise provided in this Code or by other provision of law, a judgment is
a decision rendered by means of a written judgment issued by a court based on
oral argument and in compliance with the form/procedure provided by law, and
shall have legal effect pursuant to a declaration based on such judgment.
2. A ruling is a decision that may be issued by a court or judge without oral argument,
and is not a judgment.
